One thing I’ve been thinking about from Epic Universe is how much the hotel location changes the feel of the trip.
Helios having its own dedicated entrance into Epic Universe is obviously the dream setup, but even the difference between being able to walk from a hotel versus needing a shuttle can change how relaxed the day feels. With kids, especially after a long park day, “ten minutes on foot” and “wait for a bus” are not the same thing.
That’s something I hope Universal UK gets right. If the hotels are properly connected to the park, the entrance plaza and maybe whatever CityWalk style area they build, it could make a short UK resort break feel much more like Orlando. Arrive, check in, wander over for food, do the park the next day, then head back easily for a rest if needed.
If the hotels end up feeling separate, with everyone depending on shuttles or car parks, it might still work, but it won’t feel quite as much like a proper resort.
For me, the boring stuff like walking routes, entrances, hotel gates and transport links could make a massive difference to whether Universal UK feels like a one day park or a proper two night break.
